We won! LeCont wins the 92nd Pikes Peak International Hill Climb 2014

Incredible, exceptional, fantastic, wonderful. The emotion is such that adjectives fail. Certainly, LeCont's adventure in the world of high-level car racing could not have begun better.

At the first exit with our name in the world of world-class car races, at the first participation in one of the most prominent international races, certainly one of the 15 most famous and popular car races in the world (in the USA a famous specialized magazine recently ranked it in third place among all world races) as well as the second US race for seniority after the Indianapolis 500. LeCont "broke" on the first try. The Trentino company has in fact won the 92nd edition of the famous Pikes Peak International Hill Climb 2014 uphill race, unfortunately marred by a fatal accident among the motorcyclist competitors. Exactly one year after Sébastien Loeb's triumph in 2013, another Frenchman triumphed in Colorado (USA) in the world famous "Race to the Clouds": Romain Dumas, for whom the third attempt was the right one. He absolutely wanted to win and he did, wearing LeCont tyres!

Just two weeks after his retirement at the 24 Hours of Le Mans Karting, where he set the second fastest time in qualifying, the official driver of the Porsche 919 Hybrid program in the WEC, took his revenge at Pikes Peak International Hill Climb 2014, winning the most prestigious uphill race at world behind the wheel of a Norma M20 RD - Honda K20 turbo, equipped with LeCont radial tyres. Dumas completed the almost 20 km of the route (over 1400 meters in altitude, with an arrival at 4300 meters above sea level) in 9'05"801, after having broken an exceptional partial in the first part of the climb (3'34" in the first 8 km) and before being slowed down in the final part of the climb by poor grip conditions that favored the most fearsome rival cars, benefiting from their four-wheel drive. However, Dumas beat the two ultra-powerful electric-modified, four-wheel drive MIEV III prototypes, officially registered by Mitsubishi Motorsport and piloted by the American Greg Tracy and the Japanese Hiroshi Masuoka.

"For me, this victory represents the final realization of a project started three years ago" - said Dumas, very excited, after the arrival. "To do this this year, we modified the car in several places and chose different tyres. Winning here gave me the same emotion as winning the 24 Hours of Le Mans Karting. I'm simply delighted. It's hard to put it in words. emotion that I feel inside of me. To succeed was a dream, which today has become reality. It was difficult, especially in the final part of the route, which was dirty and dusty. Even today's high temperatures did not benefit us. I did not realize the time that I wanted and that was clearly within our reach, from what we had seen in practice, but I got the position I wanted and it's fantastic. That's fine".

It is also great for LeCont and is just the beginning. As the slogan of the Trentino company says: "The best is yet to come".
