Romain Dumas: star also at Turckheim Hill Climb 2014. So fast, so strong
14/09/2014
What a sight at the 58th edition of the Turckheim Hill Climb 2014 time trial!
Two months after her epic 92nd win at Pikes Peak International Hill Climb 2014, the victorious Norma M20 "RD Limited" - Honda stepped out of her garage this weekend to enjoy the action on the road again. Always piloted by the French Romain Dumas and always "shod" by LeCont, the prototype and its driver were the guest-stars of the final of the 2014 French Mountain Championship.
Since this car, made specifically for the race in Colorado (USA), does not correspond to the regulations of the French Championship, Dumas was not allowed to actually race, but only to participate as a demonstration, out of the standings. However, he drove his M20 "RD Limited" as fast as usual, on the same course as the other competitors and equaled the best times of the real race.
Too bad only for some penalizing problems of engine malfunction, but the performance was decidedly competitive, the driver is a champion, the car is fantastic and the level of grip excellent (thanks to the aerodynamic load generated by the Norma chassis in combination with the very fast new LeCont tyres of the latest generation). The result of this winning cocktail is that the Dumas - Norma - LeCont ensemble proved to be very competitive. Good job.
Congratulations to Romain, Norbert, Guillem, Sergio, Valter and to all staff members of RD Ltd., Norma, LeCont and all technical partners! Now, we need to stay focused, another big challenge lies ahead. Very soon.
Water in the mouth, it's a secret.
