Pikes Peak International Hill Climb 2014: Dumas, Norma, Honda and LeCont dominate free practice

The new LeCont "automotive adventure" starts on the right foot in the 92nd edition of the famous Pikes Peak International Hill Climb 2014 (Colorado, USA). The first day of testing of the second oldest US motoring race, in fact, saw the French Romain Dumas dominate the scene in the free practice session held on the first sector (8 km) of the climb, whose overall distance extends for about 20 km. Romain Dumas, at the wheel of his Norma M20 RD - Honda "fitted" with LeCont tyres, set the best time on the first attempt, in 3'51"898, which he then improved on the second lap, during which he completed the first sector in 3'49"826. Dumas, who competes in the top category "Unlimited", left his closest rival (Jeff Zwart) at 18"918. Second place in the" Unlimited "category and third overall, the Italian Piero Nappi, follows at 23"511 by Dumas. The qualifying session in sector 1 will take place today (Wednesday 25 June) in the early hours of the day local time (14:30 in Italy).
