Fan Fest for 35,000

In the United States races are a party in themselves and an opportunity to celebrate. Pikes Peak is not an exception to this rule. Not at all... During the week of the famous race to the clouds, the organizers bring the race in the city. Friday night, prototypes, cars, motorbikes and quads participating to the 92th edition of the famous Pikes Peak International Hill Climb, have moved to the central streets of Colorado Springs-downtown (Tejon Street, Bijou Street, Pikes Peak Street...) and exposed themselves to the admiring glances of the fans and to the physical contact with a crowd of racing enthusiasts, as well as some merely curious. All these people came just to admire and touch the racing cars, and/or to simply party, savouring a lot of adrenaline thanks to acrobats on two wheels at the Red Bull X-Fighters' program. From 5 to 11 PM, thirty-five thousand spectators watched the Fan Fest, which has become a must, an event within the event. Among the most admired cars, a special place was definitely reserved to Romain Dumas's Norma M20 RD-Honda/LeCont, thanks also - it must be said - to the drawn character that represents the main sponsor, who stood on the hood of the prototype: the rubber teddy bear well known in the U.S. as Gummy Bear, popular among all the American children and also older people.
