The new "motorsport adventure" for LeCont in car racing started on the right foot in the 92nd edition of the
famed Pikes Peak International Hill Climb (Colorado, USA). The first day of testing of the second "oldest" US
motorsports event has, in fact, seen the French Romain Dumas dominate its competitors in the "Bottom Section"
(8 km, 5.16 miles) free practices. Actually, the total length of the Hill Climb course is approximately 20 kms
(12.42 miles) split in three sections for practices. Romain Dumas, driving his Norma M20 RD-Honda equipped
with LeCont tyres, has set the fastest time on run 1 in 3:51.898, before improving it on the run 2, when he
performed 3:49.826. Dumas, who entered the 2014 PPIHC in the Top category "Unlimited", has left his "closest"
rival (Jeff Zwart) by a margin of 0:18.918... Second in the "Unlimited" category and third in general
standings of these free practices, the Italian Piero Nappi, follows at 0:23.511 behind Dumas.
The qualifying practice of the Bottom Section will start today (Wednesday, 25 June) in the early hours of the day local time (1.30 PM in the UK).
